1. Information we collect

We collect the information you choose to submit, including your public message, attribution, optional recipient, optional destination link, bid amount, acceptance of the Terms, and related timestamps. These fields are intended for public display, so do not put private or sensitive information in them.

To operate payments and ranking, we may receive and store transaction references, checkout and payment identifiers, payment status, amount, currency, and the email address or other contact information returned by the payment provider. Our hosting and security providers may also process technical data such as IP address, device or browser details, request logs, and fraud signals.

2. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider identified at checkout. The Last Word does not directly receive or store your complete card number. The payment provider handles payment details under its own privacy policy and may use them for payment processing, fraud prevention, compliance, and dispute handling.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and rank submissions, confirm payment, publish permanent share pages and social-preview images, operate and secure the Site, prevent abuse and fraud, handle refunds or disputes, comply with law, respond to requests, and improve the service.

Public submission content may also appear in promotions for The Last Word. We do not sell complete payment-card information, and we do not claim that private transaction data is part of your public message.

4. When information is shared

Public submission fields are shared with anyone who visits or receives a link or preview. We also share information with service providers that support hosting, storage, security, analytics if enabled, communications, and payment processing; with professional advisers when necessary; or when required to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer.

5. Retention

Published messages and their permanent share pages may remain available after they leave the homepage or ranking. We retain transaction and operational records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, preserve ranking integrity, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Public caches and social networks may retain older previews outside our control.

6. Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain uses. Email support@thelastword.lol to make a request and include the submission URL or transaction details needed to verify it. We may keep information where retention is required or permitted for security, disputes, legal compliance, or the integrity of paid rankings.

7. Security, children, and changes

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can promise perfect security. The service is not directed to children under 13, and people who are not legally able to buy a placement should not submit payment information. We may update this policy as the service changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
